While traveling through Oklahoma, my husband and I happened upon the "Busy Corner"—a weathered, abandoned gas station that the local community has lovingly reclaimed as a vibrant centerpiece for their town. Originally painted under the title Busy Corner, this piece captures that unique spirit of preservation, turning a relic of the road into a tribute to small-town pride and the beauty of finding life in unexpected places.

Exhibition Note: A digital print of this artwork was selected for display by the local museum in Hollis, Oklahoma, and is featured as part of the "Rooted in the Palouse" exhibition at the LCSC Center for Arts & History (Sept 29 – Dec 19, 2026).
