This piece holds a deeply personal connection to my roots as an artist. My late mother was also an artist, and nearly twenty years after her passing, I discovered a sheet of tracing paper among her things featuring this exact sketch. I took her original outline and painted it, bringing her vision to life through my own watercolor washes.
Exhibition Note: This piece is featured as part of the "Rooted in the Palouse" exhibition at the LCSC Center for Arts & History (Sept 29 – Dec 19, 2026).
