Wendie’s Nomadic Vibes
A Journey to Nomadism
Wendie embarked on a full-time nomadic lifestyle following a profound spiritual awakening in 2019. This transformation occurred after she completed the 500-mile pilgrimage across Spain, known as El Camino de Santiago. Upon returning in mid-2019, the world faced the onset of the Covid pandemic, which led to the closure of her decade-long coaching business, Kause Success Management. Concurrently, her husband, an Iraq war veteran, was embroiled in ongoing struggles with the VA regarding his wartime injuries. In early 2021, after much perseverance, he was granted 100% disability. This pivotal moment prompted the couple to embrace a life of adventure and dreams, selling their possessions and hitting the road. They now traverses the USA fall through spring, returning each summer to Lewiston, ID, to reconnect with family and friends.
An Artist's Evolution
Born in Michigan in 1968, Wendie moved westward at the age of twelve. Her passion for travel blossomed during her childhood and young adulthood. Creatively, she initially engaged in wood tole, white stone, canvas, and decorative acrylic painting. She also dabbled in various arts and crafts, including stained glass. However, the transition to a nomadic lifestyle necessitated a new creative outlet. Despite finding watercolor painting challenging in the past, Wendie decided to embrace it due to the compactness of its tools and the ample time she now had to practice. Since 2021, she has dedicated herself to watercolor painting almost daily, learning from online courses, YouTube videos, and instructional books that have enriched her understanding of this complex medium.
Artistic Inspirations and Success
Since 2021, Wendie has focused on capturing the essence of her travels through her art. She particularly enjoys painting landscapes, drawing inspiration from diverse environments ranging from deserts to oceans. While mastering watercolor techniques, she discovered a passion for creating vibrant dog portraits, which quickly gained popularity. Her unique "Vibe Dog" pet portraits, rendered in rainbow colors rather than realistic hues, have attracted numerous commissions. In 2025, Wendie reached a significant milestone in her artistic journey, feeling confident enough in her skills to submit her work to the Nez Perce County Fair. Her dedication and unique style were rewarded as she earned a First Place Ribbon for both of her submissions. This recognition not only validated her growth as an artist but also fueled her passion for watercolor painting even further.
Currently, Wendie is kept busy with continued learning and practice as well as many requests for her vibrant pet portraits and personal commissions. As a retired nomad, she finds joy in this creative pursuit, embracing the freedom and fulfillment it brings.
With this new journey of offering her art in different product options, she hopes to continue to share the joy and passion she has found in art with you.
